A web installer for JavaScript runtimes and package managers. This tool helps you set up your JavaScript development environment with all the essential tools.

Installation

Quick install:

curl -fsSL https://unruntime.jasenmichael.com/install.sh | bash

Manual install:

curl -fsSL https://github.com/jasenmichael/unruntime/releases/latest/download/unruntime.sh -o ~/.unruntime/unruntime.sh
chmod +x ~/.unruntime/unruntime.sh
~/.unruntime/unruntime.sh

After installation, unrun and unruntime commands will be available locally.

What Gets Installed

• unruntime: Installed to ~/.unruntime with local commands unrun and unruntime
• nvm: Node Version Manager (with update prompts)
• node: Latest LTS version
• npm: Node Package Manager
• corepack: For managing package managers (when supported by Node version)
• pnpm: Package manager (via corepack)
• yarn: Package manager (via corepack)
• bun: JavaScript runtime and package manager
• deno: JavaScript/TypeScript runtime

Usage

unruntime [option]
# or
unruntime [package1 package2 ...]

Options

• -h, --help: Show help message
• -V, --version: Show script version
• -a, --all: Install all packages
• -n, --none: Install only nvm, node (LTS), and npm

Examples

unruntime             # Interactive mode, prompt for each package
unruntime -a          # Install all packages
unruntime pnpm yarn   # Install specific packages
unruntime -n          # Install only nvm, node, and npm

Notes

• unruntime, nvm, node, and npm are always installed/updated first
• For Windows users, this script requires WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux)
• Options and packages cannot be mixed (e.g., -h pnpm is invalid)
